“(poetry’s eloquent sensibilities and ambitions are intertwined with my grasp of poetic prosody; the rhetoric encountered in a poem isn’t really voice, but rather a precise discourse on mood and consciousness). Perhaps it constitutes the basic makeup of my best-loved poems.
